Big Improvements to Linked Terms in TaxoPress
“Linked Terms” is a feature in TaxoPress Pro that allows you to connect terms. When the main term is added to a post, the linked terms will also be added.
For sites with a lot of terms, this feature makes it easier and quicker for your users to add the correct terms. For example, if you add the term “WordPress” to your posts, TaxoPress can automatically add Linked Terms that include “CMS”, “website”, and “website design”.
We’ve just released a couple of updates to TaxoPress that have major improvements to this feature.

What’s New With Linked Terms?
There are two big upgrades available for the Linked Terms feature:
- You can now link terms across all the taxonomies on your site. For example, you can link a Tag to a Category. Or you can link a WooCommerce Product Category to a WooCommerce Attribute.
- There is a new “Linked Terms” screen in TaxoPress Pro which makes it easy to manage these connections.

An Example of Using Linked Terms With WooCommerce
Many of the TaxoPress customers who use Linked Terms rely on it to help with WooCommerce. This feature is similar to the “Collections” feature in Shopify that many of our customers have used. Let’s see an example of how this feature works.
In this screenshot below, we have three Product Categories in WooCommerce: hats, shirts and shorts.

We also have three Product Tags: collared shirts, short-sleeve shirts and long-sleeve shirts. These are all related to the Product Category called “Shirts”, but without TaxoPress there’s no way to create that relationship.

With TaxoPress Pro installed, I can edit the “Shirts” Product Category and add the three Product Tags as Linked Terms. This screenshot below shows the search box where you can find and add the Linked Terms.

Now when you create a new product, all you need to do is add the “Shirts” category, as in this screenshot below:

Click the “Update” button for your WooCommerce product and immediately afterwards the three Product Tags will be added.

Do More With TaxoPress Pro
TaxoPress Pro has a ton of extra features to help you organize your WordPress content. In addition to Linked Terms, you’ll find Synonyms, which allow you to have multiple words associated with a single term. You can also use the Auto Terms feature to scan your content to add new, relevant terms. TaxoPress Pro also integrates with OpenAI and IBM Watson to analyze your content and suggest terms.
