The TaxoPress Plugins Are Moving to PublishPress
Hey, and thanks for using TaxoPress.
Our goal is to build the best plugins to manage the Tags and Categories on your WordPress sites.
I want to share with you a change that will help us reach that goal. And it will have an impact on how you use the plugins.

TaxoPress will become part of PublishPress
TaxoPress is part of the same company as PublishPress. PublishPress provides publishing plugins for many of the same customers we serve at TaxoPress. It’s also a much better-known brand with tens of thousands of customers and hundreds of thousands of plugin installs.
The honest truth is that this is a business decision. We think that this platform will get more eyeballs and grow faster as part of PublishPress. It will become part of a larger brand with a much bigger audience.
And, it’s just a lot of extra work to maintain a second brand. It’s not just the branding, but the developer resources, social accounts, blog posts, newsletters, and everything that goes into maintaining a separate brand.
How will this impact you?
First, the names of the plugins will change. So you will see new names in your WordPress admin area:
- TaxoPress will become “PublishPress Taxonomies”.
- Tag Groups will become “PublishPress Tag Groups”.
Second, we’ll start selling these plugins from PublishPress.com. So you’ll be visiting a different site to get your account details, license keys etc.
Third, we think it will make the plugins and the support experience better for you. There will be a larger team and more developers available to improve the plugins.
We aim to make this move before the end of 2026.
